The Transaction Banking Group of Bank of Commerce, an affiliate of San Miguel Corporation (SMC), earned the Best Presentation award at their company’s celebration, along with a ₱50,000 cash prize to be given to the Philippine Cancer Society, as it was the chosen NGO of the bank, which was announced during their Christmas party.

The Transaction Banking Group of Bank of Commerce team, headed by Ms. Gail Chanyungco-Bautista, made their visit a reality. Beyond the financial support, the team went the extra mile by organizing a special program for 20 cancer patients, which included gift-giving, refreshments, interactive games, and inspirational messages to provide community development, inculcating the ‘malasakit’ value of SMC as part of their CSR. The Transaction Banking Group team decided to do more by spending quality time and ‘hope’ with cancer patients and supporters.

After learning more about the organization’s programs, many of the team members expressed a desire to volunteer and become more actively involved in future initiatives.

The Philippine Cancer Society extends its heartfelt thanks to the Transaction Banking Group of Bank of Commerce for their generosity, time, and inspiring commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.

"We chose the Philippine Cancer Society because it seems that a number of our fellowmen are experiencing this (cancer) lately, which leads to their eventual and inevitable death. Our team believes that we want to provide some value, especially to those who are in despair, like cancer patients, and HOPE for the best, especially when it seems that there’s none (hope) anymore."- Ms. Gail Chanyungco-Bautista
