Chairman

Dr. Paterno was a fellow at the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences and faculty member at the Ateneo de Manila University. He finished his postgraduate studies in history with a Master of Arts degree from Georgetown University and a Ph.D from Harvard University. He was Senior Vice President with the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and served on the Board of its affiliate companies. He has also rendered active participation in various civic affairs endeavors and volunteer organizations such as Philippine Cancer Society (PCS), where he is Chairman of the Board since 1992.

 

 

 

ANTONIO MA. GUERREROANTONIO MA. GUERRERO
Vice-Chairman

Mr. Guerrero was an executive officer with Eveready Philippines, Inc. (now Energizer Philippines, Inc.) for 37 years, serving as President for more than a decade before retiring from active management in 2000. He continues to function as Chairman of the Board and consultant to Energizer Philippines, Inc.

 

 

 

 

 

CONRADO LL. LORENZOCONRADO LL.LORENZO, JR.
President

Dr. Lorenzo is a former Chancellor of the University of the Philippines in Manila and a past President and Executive Director of the Phil. Center for Population and Development. He was a Professor at the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UP College of Medicine. He is currently a consultant of the Makati Medical Center.

 

 

 

 

 

ANTONIO H. VILLALON, M.D.ANTONIO H. VILLALON, M.D.
Vice-President

Dr. Villalon is a former Chairman of the UP-Philippine General Hospital Cancer Institute.  His vast contributions in cancer management include the establishment of the first local fellowship training program in Medical Oncology, which trained and produced Filipino medical oncologists nationwide.  He is also former President of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, Philippine Society of Oncology and Philippine College of Physicians.  At present, he is the chief of Med-Onco Department of the Manila Doctors Hospital and an associate professor at the U.P. College of Medicine.

 

 

 

 

DON M. FERRY, Js.D.
Treasurer

Dr. Ferry earned his Ll.B from the University of the Philippines, was a fourth placer in the Bar Exams, and obtained his Master of Laws and Doctor of Juridical Science degrees from the Yale Law School. He was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Philamlife Group of Companies before joining the government as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communications and concurrently Chairman of the Board of Transportation (now LTFRB). He is a former Vice-Chairman of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and President of DBP Management Corporation. He received a Distinguished Achievement Award in Legal Management from the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity and an Outstanding Government Service Award from the San Beda  Alumni Association. Currently, he is a senior partner in Ferry, Toledo, Gonzaga, Tria and Associates Law Office and on the board of several private companies. 

 

 

 

TOMAS V. APACIBLETOMAS V. APACIBLE
Assistant Treasurer

Mr. Apacible has made important contributions in finance and business management both for the private sector and the government. He assumed various positions in the bureaucracy, including the role of Undersecretary for the Department of Finance, Senior Governor of the Development Bank of the Philippines, Director of Land Bank of the Philippines, Commissioner for the Bureau of Customs, and Independent Non-Broker Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange. At present, he is President & CEO of Trust International Paper Corporation.

 

 

 

 

Ambassador ALBERT F. DEL ROSARIOAmbassador ALBERT F. DEL ROSARIO

Ambassador Del Rosario is past Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States of America. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in economics from New York University. He is currently Chairman of Gotuaco, del Rosario and Associates, Inc., Asia Traders Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Center Management Board Inc. (San Francisco and New York). He serves as Director in numerous companies and non-profit organizations such as Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and Infrontier (Philippines) Inc. He is a recipient of the EDSA II Heroes Award for his efforts in promoting Philippine Democracy and the Philippine Army Award for his accomplishments as Chairman of the Makati Foundation for Education.

Dr. Dizon has a long and distinguished medical career particularly in the area of cardiology and clinical research. He received an Outstanding Scientist Award from the Philippine Heart Association (1991). He has been active in professional organizations, and served as President of the Philippine College of Physicians, Philippine Medical Association and Philippine Heart Association in the past. Today, he maintains consultancy services for University of Sto.Tomas Hospital, Makati Medical Center and Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
 

 

 

 

 

CORAZON A. NGELANGEL, M.D.CORAZON A. NGELANGEL, M.D.

Dr. Ngelangel is an Associate Professor of the UP-College of Medicine and also heads the Medical Oncology Sections of PGH and JRRMMC. She is a medical oncologist with an MS in clinical epidemiology and PhD in Organization development. She is a prolific writer and researcher, and has won awards as outstanding oncology researcher and teacher by the Philippine Society of Oncology and as most outstanding researcher by Philippine College of Physicians. She has also been a consistent international publication awardee of UP. She is a past president of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncologist, and a catalyst in the initiation of the cancer support groups Kapisanan ng May K and ARUGA. She was a member of the Advisory Council for the DOH-Philippine Cancer Control Program, and has been a PCSI volunteer since 1988. She has been the Medical Director of Roche (Philippines) Inc. since 1990.

 

 

 

Undersecretary ENRIQUE D. PEREZUndersecretary ENRIQUE D. PEREZ

Usec Perez is the Undersecretary in the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines.  He graduated from San Beda College of Law, Magna cum Laude, and was a De Witt Fellow and Fullbright Grantee at the University of Michigan, USA.  An 8th placer in the Bar Exams, he engaged in law practice and taught law subjects at San Beda College until he joined the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company in  1965 as Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary, progressing up the corporate ladder over 34 years to finally retire as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  He is an awardee of distinctions in the field of management from the Legal Management Association of the Philippines and the Life Achievement Awared from his Alma Mater, San Beda College, and the San Beda Law Alumni Association.

 

 

 

ALBERTO B. ROXAS, M.D.ALBERTO B. ROXAS, M.D.

Dr. Roxas is presently the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of the Philippines in Manila. He is past president of the Philippine College of Surgeons and the Philippine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and past Chairman of the Philippine Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also past Chief of Colorectal Surgery Service of Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and the Philippine General Hospital. He is a former Executive Officer of the Advisory Council of the Philippine Cancer Control Program of the Department of Health. He specializes in colorectal surgery.

 

 

 

 

JOSE S. SANDEJAS, Ph.D.JOSE S. SANDEJAS, Ph.D.

Dr. Sandejas is the Presidential Consultant on Family Affairs of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He also sits at the top post of various business enterprises, including Pilipinas Hino, Inc. (Chairman), Professional Managers, Inc. (Chairman & President), Biomedix Laboratories (Chairman), Diversified Holdings, Inc. (Chairman), Meralco Foundation, Inc. (Chairman), and Parents for Education Foundation (President). He received a Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) award in 1980.

 

 

 

 

FRANCISCO C. EIZMENDI, JR.

Mr. Eizmendi is a Director of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, Great Pacific Life Assurance Corporation, Bankard and Makati Finance.  He is the Chairman of Dearborn Motors Company, a past President of San Miguel Corporation, and a  Fellow, Trustee and former President of the Institute of Corporate Directors.  He is a recipient of the Outstanding Thomasian Alumni Award from the University of Santo Tomas.

 

 

 

JAIME GALVEZ-TAN, M.D.

Dr. Tan is a Professor at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and the President of Health Futures Foundation, Inc.  He was formerly Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of the Philippines Manila and the Executive Director of the National Institute of Health Philippines for 2002-2005.  He served as Regional Adviser in Health and Nutrition for East Asia and the Pacific Region at UNICEF in Bangkok in 1996.  He was a member of the Philippine Cabinet as Health Secretary in 1995 and as Undersecretary and Chief of Staff from 1992-94.

 

 

 

 

TOMAS M. REALIZA, M.D.

Dr. Realiza is a Life Fellow, past President and Specialty Board Member of the Philippine College of Chest Physicians.  He is also a Board Member of the Philippine College of Pharmaceutical Medicine.  He was the formerly Medical Director of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals (Phils) Inc.

 

 

 

  

DR. RACHAEL MARIE B. ROSARIO, M.D., D.P.H.A.
Executive Director / Corporate Secretary

Dr. Rosario is Head Coordinator of the Supportive, Palliative and Hospice Unit, Department of Family and Community Medicine at UP-PGH Manila where she also holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor at the UP College of Medicine. A 30-year cancer survivor, Dr. Rosario is a pain consultant at the San Juan De Dios Hospital since 2006. She is also volunteering her services as Project Director of two cancer support groups – Child Haus of QC General Hospital and Munting Paraiso of UP-PGH Cancer Institute. A product of Silliman University’s B.S.M.T., she took up her post graduate studies at the University of Visayas College of Medicine  and 3-year residency program in Anesthesiology at UP-PGH.
