Last January 9, 2009, PCS executive director Dr. Kelly S. Salvador and education and information head Mr. Alex O. Asuncion were invited as resource speakers to a seminar on "Grief Support for Oncology Patients" held at the Paulino Cayco Hall, Arellano University, Legarda, Manila.

Dr. Salvador discussed among 4th year college Nursing students of Arellano University the significance of offering "grief support" for family members and friends of cancer patients. He also focused on the more personal approach provided by nurses for patients as compared to medical doctors.

Mr. Asuncion talked on the Philippine Cancer Society as an institution and the various projects and programs needed to control cancer. He also urged the AU Nursing students to visit the PCS facilities after their graduation and become volunteers.
