2010 Poster Making and Webpage Making Contest

Contest Mechanics:

1. Who can join. The contest is open to all Filipinos. (Relatives within the 3rd degree of consanguinity of a PCS Board of Trustee, staff or volunteer may not participate.)

2. Theme. Effective prevention and early detection are the best means to fight cancer.

3. Announcement of Winners. Winners will be announced in appropriate ceremonies on May 2010.

4. Entries. Posters and webpage designs must be submitted before the deadline on March 31, 2010. Contestants have to incorporate the theme in his/her entry. Entries must have the contestant’s name and other details at the back of the work for posters. Webpages can be submitted through e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or CD-DVD at its general offices.

5. Materials. Materials for posters should be in ¼ illustration board using traditional art media (crayon, watercolor, oil). Webpages must be in HTML or jpg format and should not exceed 5 megabytes. A contestant may submit more than one entry.

6. Criteria. An entry shall be based on the following criteria:

• Creativity and presentation 50%

• Originality 20%

• Relevance to the theme 30%

7. Board of Judges. The PCS Board of Trustees will identify and convene a distinguished Board of judges. All decisions reached by the Board of Judges shall be considered final.

8. Prizes. P10,000 for first prize; P5,000 for second prize; P2,000 for third prize for each of the two categories (poster and webpage). All eligible contestants will receive PCS commemorative pins.

9. Rights. By joining the competition, all entries automatically become the property of the Philippine Cancer Society.

10. Waiver. Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these mechanics and by the decisions of the contest organizers and its judges, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest. By joining the contest, the participants agree to waive any right to claim ambiguity or error in these mechanics.

11. How to register entry(ies). Interested participants must fill up two copies of the Contestant Information Sheet which is available at the PCS Website or at its general offices at 310 San Rafael St., San Miguel, Manila. Completed forms and entries must be submitted on or before March 31, 2010.

12. The PCS reserves the right to provide an additional prize or bonus of P5,000.00 to the first prize winner whose entry is adjudged exceptional by the Board of Judges.
